Once again this year, Luminaire is discovering the 55th edition of the world’s most important furniture fair, Salone del Mobile Milano from April 12th to the 17th. From the Rho fairgrounds to the urban exhibition spaces, majestic palazzos and the cozy streets of Milan, we will uncover the best that Milan and the design world have to offer for 2016. This year, Salone del mobile presents the biennial Eurocucina exhibition alongside the international bathroom exposition to showcase innovative solutions for personalizing the domestic space with a particular focus on wellness and self-care. Starting April 12th, we will post regular updates to our home page as well as reporting of our favorite moments and spaces from the city’s design events via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
The Salone is the global benchmark for the Home Furnishing sector that first made its first appearance in 1961, with the aim of promoting Italian furniture and accessories to the export market. While it has continued to do this, it has exponentially grown to encompass design from all over the world, acting as the primary platform for the brightest stars of the international design community and serving as an invaluable source of inspiration for the thousands of people who visit each year.
