Description
An iconic piece, designed by the inimitable modern master Charlotte Perriand in 1937, the Table a Plateau Interchangeable first appeared in the design luminary’s studio in Montparnasse, Paris and later inspired many of Perriand’s subsequent projects, including her pieces from the 1940s that referenced a Japanese aesthetic with tops or woven trays made with local and natural materials, and the living rooms in the Unite d’Habitation flats in Marseille. Now adapted for outdoor use, this design classic is part of the Cassina I Maestri Collection, a timeless and stylish piece of furniture that is adaptable to many different environments, for a sleek and minimalist accent to contemporary homes. Three stalwart cylindrical legs in solid teak are joined by crosspieces that support a top made of Carrara marble with an oil-water finish, accentuating the grace of natural materials and the beauty of well-balanced geometrical forms. Available in two sizes, this elegant table looks distinguished when paired together or tasteful and refined when standing alone, adding a sense of bravura and brilliance to the outdoors.
