Cronotime Desk Clock

A reminder of the days before mobile phones and computers became the standard method of telling time, Pio Manzu’s Cronotime Desk Clock for Alessi artfully explores its function by delivering the time in a clear and cheerful manner.Originally created in 1966, Chronotime is the result of purpose driven design that exists as both the essence of the instrument and as a toy at the same time. Interactive, the design is comprised of two equal sections of a cylinder, curved and inserted one into the other in such a way that they can be rotated to give the desk clock different shapes. The dial is in turn free to turn so that you can direct the direction in which the digits are read whatever the rotation of the clock body.
