These sinuous lines continue to the top and form an opening for a taper candle that, once inserted, becomes an extension of the sculptural object, carrying the vertical lines of the holder upwards.With a career spanning over 30 years, the late Iraqi-born and London-based architect transformed the profession with her bold and stylistic neo-futuristic style. Recognizing her contributions to the profession, she was the first woman and Muslim to win the prestigious Pritzker Architecture prize, and most recently the first woman to win the RIBA Gold Medal.
