Capturing the essence of human emotion, Belgian artist Ann Vrielinck creates expressive figurative sculptures. In her Striving Sculpture, four abstracted figures become intertwined and contort as they reach together with arms outstretched towards a single upright figure. Seemingly making a great effort to obtain an unknown object from the single figure, the sculpture expresses the human nature to strive. Crafted in bronze in an edition of 75 pieces, the modern sculpture is highly unique. Born in Varsenare, Belgium, Vrielinck studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges before continuing with a degree in painting from the Saint-Lucas Institute in Ghent. The Striving Sculpture represents a passionate collaboration between the artist and Gardeco, a Belgian design brand. The result is an original piece of art that is visually appealing and emotionally contemplative, adding a level of beauty and sophistication to the home.
