Jimken Pendant Light
A member of Ingo Maurer’s MaMo Nouchies, and created in collaboration with Dagmar Mombach, the Jimken Pendant Light takes inspiration from from a traditional Japanese technique of paper folding. The use of paper by sculptor Isamu Noguchi was the catalyst for the cross-cultural designs which emerged from the series. No machines are involved: all the operations are performed by hand and up to eight separate treatments are needed. Plain sheets of paper are transformed by folding and pulling the paper, making each piece unique. The end result is an ethereal pendant light fixture that’s warm glow makes a striking impact on any interior.
