On My Mind Table Lamp
Michael Anastassiades takes a whimsical deviation from his characteristic use of perfect spheres of opaline glass in the On My Mind Table Lamp. The poetic and sculptural lighting object features a gently curving glass form that recalls a minimalist head resting on its side as if lost in thought dreaming about memories past or the future ahead. At the base of the mouth-blown globe is a polished nickel-plated brass cap and matching silver cord that conveys the alternate reading of design as a reference to a fallen balloon. Each component of the captivating light is fabricated in carefully sourced workshops selected for their unique manufacturing skills and tradition in the use of materials. Through the careful reduction of form and purity of material, the designer has created the ethereal On My Mind Table Lamp as an art piece that evokes an emotional response from those who view it.
