Tatou Table Lamp
Finding inspiration in unlikely places, Patricia Urquiolaâs Tatou Table Lamp began as a study in joining traditional dome style lights with the creative language of a screen to filter light. The end result is a stunning lamp that provides pleasant diffused light from an intricate and mesmerizing screen. The process began by looking for different ways to reconstruct membranes, conceived like Japanese armor: a series of metal buckles cleverly united by tapes with a powerful emotional value. Even the name Tatou references a point of inspiration; French for Armadillo, references the final result of the mesmerizing screen. The lamp features an internal opal dome diffuser that is covered in an exterior polycarbonate screen adding interest and texture to the piece.
